My very first workation

Hey gorgeous,

It was 6 years ago, and I was enjoying the sun in Florida. I went on my very first workation.

In the morning, I worked for a couple of hours, and then I went to the beach. I spent the rest of the day under an umbrella, reading books like Wolfpack by Abby Wambach.

That book planted the first seed for the WolfPack Membership. Because we as women are more powerful and pretty much unstoppable when we work together.

It was definitely a lazy workation. I left the hotel only once. I went to Target by bike. Bikes were included during the stay, and it was a 30-minute bike ride. I memorized Google Maps because roaming costs are enormous, and came back with more than I wrote on my list.

How could I have this workation? Because, as a virtual assistant, you can work from anywhere there is WIFI. Plus, you can get a lot of things done when you give yourself a short amount of time.

Halfway through, I got a scare because back then, I worked with a Google Chromebook, and the battery was amazing. But when I needed to plug it in, I found out that the travel adapter didn’t fit. So, I had to hope the Publix that was a 10-minute walk away had one.

I was so glad they had one that also worked. So crisis averted, hahaha.

So, my biggest tip is when you go on a workation. Check if your travel adapter is the right one for the country you’re visiting.

I would love to support you in your VA journey. Check this link for all the ways you can work with me. Maybe you can plan your first workation this year.

Love,
Marit

Hey Reader, When I just started my business in 2017, I thought I needed sooooo many clients to make enough money. I saw myself working 40 hours plus a week. That would have been the case if I had kept working as a general VA who only did projects. The moment I decided to pivot my business to being a tech & ops specialist was the moment I started signing clients who wanted to work with me month after month and wanted to pay good money for it. As a tech & ops specialist, you definitely can work...

Hey Reader, When I just started out as a VA, I thought I needed to work 40 hours a week. Because I thought that was the only way to make a full-time income. I spent all my time searching for clients, and if I wasn’t doing that, I felt guilty. I was making no money at all until I signed my first client. But she only needed me for a project, so while I worked on her online course, I also had to look for new clients. Maybe you know this feeling: you’re so happy you’ve found a client, but after...
